Weekly Update

I’m obsessed with Instagram – it’s my favorite online home! Here’s a recap from the last week, and for those of you who aren’t on Instagram, come and join me! And you can click here to see all the Instagram updates right here on my blog!

Saturday, March 25

? This morning True woke me up with a “mom, you HAVE to see this sunrise. It’s so beautiful!” As I was forcing my tired bones out of bed (I am not a morning person) I could hear him calling for John to come up from downstairs with an exuberant “you gotta see this sunrise!” A moment later, there we were, all three of us huddled in the upstairs family fort room looking at the sunrise which was indeed stunning. True put one of his little arms around John’s back and one around my neck as he continued, “isn’t this amazing? We’re all watching it together.” My heart took notice of the moment. I closed my eyes and said a small prayer that I’d remember it always. He is the happiest in the morning, the gentlest, sweetest little being. He simply adores being with us and that feels like a simple yet divine gift.

Sunday, March 27

Braided my hairs today and got dressed up in joy for family day. I’m loving growing my hair out. Also, I’m super looking forward to this week.

Monday, March 28

Trying to convince her that Monday’s aren’t as awful as everyone says they are.

No filter on this Monday afternoon of roller hockey in front of our house. That sky.

Tuesday, March 29

Current scene. I’m working on the floor at the coffee table in our little sitting room. Lulu is quite under the weather last couple of days so I’m working from home. She’s got a nasty bladder infection and is pooped out. Poor girl. I am also pooped out but for other reasons. The good news? Sun is out and it’s gorgeous!

Feeling some big time ❤️❤️ and ?? for John. It’s been such a odd, tender month for me between traveling to the East coast to be with my family and all the hard, long hours I’ve been putting in at work. He’s been taking great care of me, making massage appointments, feeding me food, encouraging me, and taking on the heavier load when it comes to house and home and family care. None of it goes unnoticed in the ebb and flow of the give and receive seasons that make up real deal partnership.

Wednesday, March 30

Please send up some ❤️❤️ for #lulubutterbutterbean. She is quite sick and currently at the vet hospital as we all try to figure it out. ? I am worried and trying to not awfulize.

Thursday, March 31

Little miss Lulu woke up today feeling MUCH better. She went in for more fluids and meds this morning and now she’s home. Not 100% but is moving, eating, and even playing a little but. Still keeping close tabs on her but feeling like she came through whatever the heck it was that knocked her down this week. Man. What a relief. Friends, I’m ready for March to be over. It’s been a tough one. And although there is always gold to be found in times of struggle, I’m ready for plain old ordinary days and routines. Xxo and thanks for all the doggie love. Means the world.

It is with so much anticipation and JOY, that I’d like to announce that my new website is finally (FINALLY) live. I have so much to say about it, but for now you guys are the first to know and I’d love it if you took a peek at it. Even better if you can look at it on your computer vs mobile as we are still working out some kinks on mobile. The new site features not only a stunning new design, new tagline, a brand new blog, new shop, videos, a dedicated login page for my students (!), and so much more. I’m in love and so hope you love it too! There are so many hearts and hands and talents that went into this endeavor – over a year in the making.

Warrior Optimist was born from a tough season of good old fashioned transition and stress. Creating Warrior Optimist was a way for me to practice optimistic endurance and the courage of reaching for healing. We sometimes forget, but the truth is that even the excruciating parts of our journey are also beautiful, delicate, layered, worth it.

That’s it for this week! Check back here next week for another update, or join us over on Instagram for daily photos and thoughts!

XO,
Kelly Rae

Sending much love,
