The holiday decorations came down and that inspired us (me) to rearrange our living room quite a bit from the original set up. I thought I’d share with you how our main room looks these days. It’s changed a bit now that True is running around and operation baby proof happened.
We took out the old coffee table and replaced it with one that is safe for toddlers (Ikea).
We also got rid of our fireplace screen and simply cleaned out the fireplace and filled it with suitcases (a great toy storage area!).
I gave our chair a quick little facelift by tucking a favorite blanket on the seat cushion. LOVE the instant makeover and how the fabric coordinates with our yellow rug. I’m crazy in love with anything yellow these days especially if gray is nearby. The piece of furniture you see above is another great toy storage area.
We moved our couch up against the wall (more floor room for play!) and created an entire wall of birdie paintings….
Paintings are by me, Mati Rose, Amy Ruppel, Rachel Austin, and the birdcage project was detailed here with before + after photos. Love that thing.
We’re still working on making our house a home – I suppose that part never ends (in a good way). I love how our homes evolve right along with us so that the spaces become functional as our functions and needs change. Right now we’re working on building an entire wall of bookshelves around our dining room entry way – seriously looking forward to how that turns out. I google image searched for ideas and was seriously inspired to begin. I’ll keep you updated!
