new website + blog!!!

Jul 29, 2009 | Entrepreneurship, Life in Progress

after many long weeks of design work and uploading content (which is no small feat, that part. i’m exhausted!), i am so proud (and relieved) to announce the launching of my brand new website + blog today. i am over the moon with how it turned out. i really really am. over on the main site there’s a new shop, an awesome new book page (with an amazing ‘look inside this book’ feature), a pretty extensive FAQ, and so much more. and the blog, omg, i’m in love.

i owe a huge thank you to christine of darling design who worked on getting the design just right (i loved working with her). she did an amazing job integrating all the facets of my creative life into the site and i’m am soooo grateful. i’m also loving that this new site is on wordpress, making it completely easy to maintain and manipulate. yes!
the hardest part was uploading all the content and working out many programming glitches. so, after major sleep deprivation and other kinks along the way, today i’m ready to celebrate. won’t you join me? tell me what you think!!! and if you notice any bad links or things like that, please let me know. after spending so much time on this, i’m thrilled to put it out into the world and share it with you! it’s a dream come true. it really is 🙂
**************************************
i want to put out a huge thank you to the folks over at the bright side project for the lovely feature (and giveaway) they wrote. i read it and started blushing immediately. so much kindness….and i’ve always LOVED the bright side project (the best idea, ever!) so it was extra special. please head on over to their awesome website and check out all the goodness they’re involved with. thank you, bright side ladies!!!

Sending much love,

    Hey kelly!
The picture with the lady is a blessing, you can see the love coming from it.

I confess i enjoyed the old house better… But I understand it brings no conditions. Last year while making a short voyage here in Portugal we found an old couple in the middle of nothing, really nothing. They have the houses in terrakota, many animals and no light or water. They have a whole on the floor for the water. It was beautiful to see that some still live like that, just like the stories that my grandma tells me.

    Much love coming from Portugal!

beautiful re-designs of your sites, Kelly Rae. simply beautiful. i can appreciate the time, energy, thought, sleep deprivation!, angst, joy, tears (happy and frustrated), etc that must have gone into this new "creation". it shows, and it's lovely. Yay for You !!! now I have to get ready for SYTYCD in an hour and a half … 🙂 Davielle in Encinitas

I will check out the blog/web more when I'm not at work, but I just wanted to comment on your summer TV choices – thumbs up! "Dance" and "Bachelorette" have been my must-see TV and great to look forward to while working as a temp at a non-creative job. I'm a little sad that they're ending, but I haven't been as productive as I should be…time to get back in my studio and make something!

    funny..I didn't like 500 days of summer at all….
it was dragging for me and as soon as the animated blue bird of happiness flew onto the screen, I knew this was not a movie for me….

now….the movie "away we go"…..that's an amazing movie and my favorite of the year so far…

I hope you can see this one 🙂

    Hi Kelly Rae –
Awesome site. I did see that on the blog page, the red text on the left side of the page shits to the left and into the colored border. The red text on the right column is also shifted to the left and runs into the pictures and text in the middle.

The new website and blog is just stunning. For a moment there, I thought that I was in the wrong place hahahah. It's lovely.

Can I ask though Kelly, I just went to your shop and I was interested in buying a journal, but it said U.S orders only. Will it be open to international orders at some point?

It looks great and after spending a few moments to check it out, it is all very very user friendly. The teal is that exact background color of one of my favorite paintings of yours!

The new site is GORGEOUS! It looks so *you*, and so natural–like it grew organically (and I know that's never true of websites, it's always a lot of hard work to make it look so effortless).

I'm in the midst of a redesign of my site, which I now want to totally change because I've been inspired by yours (mine now needs more color, more texture, more beauty).

    Well done!
