this was hilarious fun…squeezing into a tiny photobooth with my parents. i absolutely love my mom’s inability to contain any of her happy laughter here, esp in the third photo. we had just finished seeing juno (their first time, my second). earlier in the day, my mom bought a fake nose ring (magnet) at Claire’s (to play a joke on greggie and john) and i almost peed my pants as she put it in her nose. it was the funniest moment of the week. i haven’t laughed that hard in months.

it’s been raining just about their entire visit. wouldn’t you know it. oh well. we’ve been indoors, crafting and reading and watching tv (lost premiers tonite!) in between quick trips here and there (including a rather fascinating boat trip to alcatraz).

when we picked them up a few days ago at the airport, i spotted this little suitcase on the conveyor belt at baggage claim and said, “oh look at that cute piece of luggage” to which my mom smiled wide as she said “oh yeah, that’s mine!” – so funny. she decopauged her initials and everything. she is going to l.o.v.e. artfest in a few weeks.
in our craftiness, my mom got a hold of my small bottle collection and made them all winged. how adorable – i feel so lucky to keep these all for myself! i keep telling her she should start and etsy shop. wouldn’t that be fun?and last but not least, we had a few hours of sunshine yesterday and my mom totally found this tin foil heart in the middle of a berkeley road. as i snapped it with my camera, an irritated driver honked at me. my parents are definitely getting a taste of where we live, for sure.
more soon!

Sending much love,

I’m so glad you’re having a good time with your Mom. Too bad the weather has been crummy, although yesterday was a nice break.

I know exactly the spot with the GG bridge in the background! Isn’t it perfect there? We watched a coyote cross the road just a few hundred yards from there one morning. He was gorgeous.
