self portrait challenge :: blue

Feb 13, 2008 | Life in Progress

“Only from the heart can you touch the sky.” – rumi

the recent warmth and bluebird skies have me smitten with the promise of spring. i know it’s only february, but it’s been flipflop weather here lately, and i couldn’t be happier about it. today, katrina and i met for tea to talk about life, creativity, plans – all while sitting outside, in the warmth and sunshine. it was glorious.

the sunnier weather has me feeling sunnier on the inside, too. the blues from last week’s self portrait challenge have left me (thankfully). and i’m on my way back to inspiration. in fact, i am finally feeling some sense of overall freedom lately. from deadlines. from catching up from vacation. from bad habits. it’s amazing how blue skies make us feel candid and unburdened. i love it.

also, i wanted to say thank you to coolmompicks.com for writing a little feature on me today (you can view story here).

more soon. i’m heading into the studio tomorrow, finally!!

Sending much love,
