the green looks a little bright here, but you get the idea. last summer when i spent a couple of days with my friend hula, i fell in love with her home, especially her letters. we share a love for decor, vintage collections, rusty things, and color. so to find another kindred soul in this department had me loving hula every step of the way. back to her letters, though. have you seen them? oh my, serious adorableness. so, i’ve started my own collection and i can barely wait to fill the entire kitchen wall with letters and numbers. thank you, andrea, for the inspiration 🙂
we are loving our mornings together, with our cups (thank you, anthropologie. you steal my heart every time) of tea and coffee. we have a giant window next to our breakfast nook…..
which is the perfect spot for our old table (it was handed down to me by nana + grandad). they purchased it the year they were married over 80 years ago. such a treasure it is for me to have a small, tangible thing that belonged to them so many years ago.
we love our vintage fiestaware collection and silverware inside the vintage glassware (mom’s idea + so convienient).
and the succulents in seattle sunshine (i know, i know!). john is the one in our family with the green thumb. i love all the plants, but i can’t keep them alive (just like i can’t cook. i’ve never really been very domestic 🙂
Hello Kelly:)
It was a very nice kitchen you have….
Hugs from Oslo,Norway
Welcome to Seattle! I just came across your blog from Hula Seventy’s. Love the color on your kitchen walls, and I see you’re in Queen Anne. I live up on the hill too, pretty close to Macrina Bakery. If you haven’t been there yet, definitely check it out! Super-cute.
you are making me miss seattle so much? is there a house on your street that my little family and i can move into and be your neighbors? hee hee.
a wall of our kitchen is that same splash of yummy color, but your letters are so fun!
and i totally noticed the meyer’s hand soap on your sink. that is my fave… love the lavender dish soap too. heaven.
ooo kelly, I am such a voyeur… I love that you’ve shared these glimpses of your new home! may you and john share many happy, healthy years there!

Wow! To have a kitchen that size- how fantastic! It looks wonderful! Like you, I collect old letters and Fiestaware. I will send you a vintage letter from Paris.

Lovely! We’re painting our kitchen a shade very similar to yours this spring. I lurv green, and have convinced hubby that it belongs in as many rooms as possible. 🙂
Very cozy kitchen…can’t wait to see what you guys do with the rest. We’ve been in our house since Jluy, and still haven’t finished settling in. (a toddler will do that to ya, though) Good luck!

I love the windows over your sink. And such a great, deep sill. It looks like a happy room and you can’t have a bad meal with good vibes around you. I heart your island/work table. My kitchen is too skinny so I can appreciate having the room for one. Enjoy making your house a home.
it is so incredibly lovely and cheery! i am thrilled you were blessed with gorgeous days yesterday and today to snap those sunny shots!
It's beautiful!!!
Love the colours & letters.
And that table.. *sigh* 🙂

I remember eating at that very table with you and mom and Jerry in 1983…hoping someday I can sit at that table again with you someday.
Love it, love it, love it. The color is wonderful and the decor is welcoming. The table and story are sweet and the photo of you and John is the perfect touch to bring it all together.

oh I love everything about it! so happy for you!
I absolutely love the color! will you share the paint chip info? please! love, love, love how the kitchen is YOU. so beautiful, warm and inviting. and the table? what a precious piece. a true treasure. thank you for sharing!
I decla-yah, that is the darlingest kitchen in the whole pacific northwest!! AND the sunniest! I could live in a dark house as long as the kitchen were sunny. Big, open and sunny. (Of course, I prefer the WHOLE house to be that way, but if I could only have ONE room, it would be the kitchen, hands down).
LOVE all your touches!! Rearrange those letters on the wall and you'll have you some "rope"…or a "repo". :>
oxoxo!!!
lovely photos… and the table is so very precious.
I am wondering whether people where you live usually buy houses or rent?
lovely kitchen. love all the white against the green walls. fresh and so clean. nice . . .very nice.
I love your kitchen…the green walls are very pretty and fresh! And the old table that was once used by your grandparents is a perfect addition to your beautiful kitchen.
Merry Christmas!
Debi
Welcome to your new home! The kitchen wall color is great — so spring-y and sassy. Glad to hear you’re settling in and loving it. Even though I’m biased, having grown up in the area, I think it’s a great place to live.
oh, kelly! this is great…can’t wait to see more photos.
Oh my gosh, your kitchen is GORGEOUS. I loved every step of this marvelous tour. Can’t wait to see the rest of the house!
