kitchen tour

Dec 17, 2008 | Home + Studio Tours

can i share a few photos of our mostly unpacked kitchen? i’m loving it….so much room compared to what we had before. not that i’m a cook (because i am not), but i love cozy kitchens. here we go….
_MG_5898.jpg

the green looks a little bright here, but you get the idea. last summer when i spent a couple of days with my friend hula, i fell in love with her home, especially her letters. we share a love for decor, vintage collections, rusty things, and color. so to find another kindred soul in this department had me loving hula every step of the way. back to her letters, though.  have you seen them? oh my, serious adorableness. so, i’ve started my own collection and i can barely wait to fill the entire kitchen wall with letters and numbers. thank you, andrea, for the inspiration 🙂

we are loving our mornings together, with our cups (thank you, anthropologie. you steal my heart every time) of tea and coffee. we have a giant window next to our breakfast nook…..

which is the perfect spot for our old table (it was handed down to me by nana + grandad). they purchased it the year they were married over 80 years ago. such a treasure it is for me to have a small, tangible thing that belonged to them so many years ago.

we love our vintage fiestaware collection and silverware inside the vintage glassware (mom’s idea + so convienient).

and the succulents in seattle sunshine (i know, i know!). john is the one in our family with the green thumb. i love all the plants, but i can’t keep them alive (just like i can’t cook. i’ve never really been very domestic 🙂

one of my faves…right there on the counter to see everyday. thank you, dear kitchen. we are so enjoying your morning glory.

Sending much love,

Welcome to Seattle! I just came across your blog from Hula Seventy’s. Love the color on your kitchen walls, and I see you’re in Queen Anne. I live up on the hill too, pretty close to Macrina Bakery. If you haven’t been there yet, definitely check it out! Super-cute.

I love the windows over your sink. And such a great, deep sill. It looks like a happy room and you can’t have a bad meal with good vibes around you. I heart your island/work table. My kitchen is too skinny so I can appreciate having the room for one. Enjoy making your house a home.

I decla-yah, that is the darlingest kitchen in the whole pacific northwest!! AND the sunniest! I could live in a dark house as long as the kitchen were sunny. Big, open and sunny. (Of course, I prefer the WHOLE house to be that way, but if I could only have ONE room, it would be the kitchen, hands down).

LOVE all your touches!! Rearrange those letters on the wall and you'll have you some "rope"…or a "repo". :>

    oxoxo!!!
